Question: How does window tint work? 

Answer: Window tint reduces the amount of light that passes through the glass, with lower percentages meaning darker tints. This applies for automotive, residential and commercial window tint. 

 

Question: How long does window tint last? 

Answer: We back our automotive tint with a lifetime transferable worldwide warranty, with an additional one year, one time, no fault warranty. Residential has a lifetime transferable warranty; paint protection film is backed with a ten to twelve year transferable warranty, and commercial tint is backed with a ten to fifteen year warranty.

 

Question: How long does it take to install automotive window tint? 

Answer: Anywhere from one to six hours, depending on type of vehicle and number of windows. If tint removal is required it will take longer, with an added charge. 

 

Question: Can window tint damage my rear defroster? 

Answer: No, window tint can be applied over rear window defrosters. 

 

Question: How should I care for my automotive, residential, or commercial window tint? 

Answer: Use a microfiber cloth and avoid using ammonia based, or abrasive cleaners. We sell glass cleaners that are safe for cleaning your windows. Please wait for the film to be fully cured before cleaning. 

 

Question: How does weather affect curing times for window tint and paint protection film? 

Answer: Cold and hot weather can affect and extend  drying time; typical curing times can be anywhere from three days to two months. Windows and Paint Protection Film can look hazy until fully cured; this is a normal part of the curing process. 

  

Question: What are the benefits of window tint? 

Answer: There are many benefits of window tint: 99.9% UV protection, heat reduction, insulation value, aesthetics, increased safety, and privacy and energy savings. 

  

Question: What causes window tint to turn purple? 

Answer: Window tint used by Spokane Sunscreen has UV blockers to make film color stable, carrying a lifetime warranty against color change, fading, peeling or bubbling. 

  

Question: If my tint is damaged, can it be fixed? 

Answer: Window tint that has been damaged cannot be fixed, but it can be removed and a new piece of tint reinstalled. Automotive window tint has a one year, one time, no fault warranty. 

  
Question: Does safety window tint prevent glass from breaking? 

Answer: No window tint does not prevent glass from breaking. Safety window tint increases the strength and safety of the glass with an aggressive adhesive to help hold the broken pieces of glass together. 
 

Question: Does window tint prevent fading from UV rays? 
Answer: Yes. The sun's rays can fade interior fabrics, furnishings, artwork, rugs and floors. Both our automotive, residential, and commercial window tints have UV blockers that block 99.9% of UV rays, and reduce heat and light which all contribute to fading.

Question: Do I need to wait to roll down my windows after my vehicle has been tinted? 

Answer: Yes, depending on weather anywhere from 1-14 days.

Question: What is “One Way Window Tint”? 

Answer: “One Way Window Tint” is based on lighting, and tint selected. This tint works with a few requirements for it to be "one way"   

1.) there must be a minimum ratio of 80% exterior light to 20% interior. 

2.) if there is a "non-tinted" window directly in line of site behind the tinted window or a TV/Computer screen that is on it will diminish the effects of the "one-way" finish.  

3.) At dusk to nighttime the film will begin to become more visible into the home or office as it gets darker outside as mentioned in item #1.   

4.) On a Bedroom, Bathroom or commercial space that requires 100% privacy this film may not fit your needs for 24 hours per day.

Question: How does window tint improve year round comfort? 

Answer: Window tint creates a comfortable environment through consistent climate control by eliminating “cold/hot wall” problems, keeping homes and business at a consistent temperature regardless of where the sun is shining.

Question: How does window tint lower energy costs? 

Answer: In summer window tint reflects the hot sun, reducing heat gain and lowering AC costs. In winter window tint retains heat, reducing heating costs. The year after year reduction in energy costs yields an impressive return on investment.

Question: Why should I have Paint Protection or “Clear Bra” installed on my vehicle? 

Answer: Your vehicle is one of the most expensive purchases you will make. Protect your investment by keeping your vehicle looking new longer. Protecting your vehicle with a quality film, and company you can trust is very important.

Question: How is Paint Protection or “Clear Bra” installed? 

Answer: We use the highest quality Paint Protection Film from Llumar films, which is computer cut with patterns unique to each vehicle, with no cutting on the vehicle. This allows us to have customizable and precise coverage on any surface, or all surfaces of your vehicle.

Question: How do I care for my Paint Protection? 

Answer: After Paint Protection installation please wait till our advised cure time is complete before washing or waxing your vehicle. After curing is complete avoid waxes that contain dyes, and abrasive polishes and cleaners. Avoid high pressure car washes, and wash at home. We sell a line of products that is safe for your paint protection film.

 

Question: Can Paint Protection or “Clear Bra” be removed? 

Answer: Yes, the film has a patented adhesive that allows for removal without damaging the paint. The painted surface underneath will look the same as the day the film was applied.
